Maiden Voyage on 4 Color Hell

I'm half expecting the email from Michele that says "Nevermind. Asshole." I figure celebrating the demise of Alien Worlds in SA [see update below] is sort of unseemly, but hey, I picked the right horse. Heroes & Fantasies/Comics Unlimited took hold waaaay back when I was in junior high, and I guess the Conleys did something right because they survived, thrived, expanded, etc. I've had My Comic Shop close on me before and that's really sort of a crappy thing. Have to pack up your list, take it somewhere else and train whole new Comic Guys to drop in stuff you might or should like. And figure out their schemas for display of new comics, and get used to the bags and backings they sell...

Nerdly complaints, but hey, I dodged the bullet. For years now. Speaking of successful comic shops, I should point out that Lytle's in College Station is at least as well-run as Comics Unlimited. And thoroughly dominates there as it should. For those Aggie nerds out there.

UPDATE & CORRECTION: Alien Worlds is still going strong, it was just a sidewalk sale. Comic nerds from SA may sympathize with the paranoia. So most of this post is pretty much garbage. And don't think I'm a shill for H&F.

Billy & Mandy

I really dig "The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy" on Cartoon Network. So wonderful--almost like Ren & Stimpy, but not quite as gross. Everyone should watch that and Kim Possible on the Yensid Lennahc. I'm not saying it would make the world a bright shining place, but somebody's got to hold off the dastardly forces of half-hour infomercials for Japanese collectible card games.

Triumphal Return

Looks like I'm the new guy at Four Color Hell. I guess I should get off my ass and start posting again. So I will. I hopes.
